No one does it better than you CML when it comes to parodies dealing with Islam- so high 555!!! CP wrongly asserts, however, that no one has thought of this idea before... not true as I have done many parodies about the Islamists and their beliefs, yet not to your depth, esp. with their ideologies and religion. I do better using milspeak and am on the IDF side anyway as a right-winger. Too bad GWB isn't President still... would be amusing to see him get America into yet another conflict. I also wonder WHY the US doesn't take the old mothballed battleships and upgrade them again with missile systems and/or sell them to Israel? The 16" firepower alone would be great in the Med for pounding Syrian and Pali targets inland! I just got up 10 am PST and read on AOL that the truce is already messed up, so I gotta go turn on CNN (Communist News Network) to find out what's going on (FOX is TOO REP and unbalanced). Love Wolf in Israel, esp. when he went down the tunnel network and when he hosts Israeli reps. CML, any chance of you doing something concerning the IDF or Israel as I am doing??? Would love to read any work you do on them :)

Oh, this has been done before, sort of. Just search original performers on this site under "Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens)" and you'll find a piece comparing the Peace Train to a transport for the Nazi death camps... which will make us infidels PERMANENTLY peaceful.

Well, DANG! Claude and especially you, Rob -- Thanks for the kind remarks. A little positive feedback generally helps the 'ol Muse get active again. I myself had actually thought of this a couple of years ago, and had posted an inferior version on another website. And then this became really relevant in the past few months, so I took the song out of mothballs and buffed out a few repetitive and/or poorly paced lines and ... Voila

Nicely constructed parody of the "Religion of Peace". Actually, doesn't "salam" also mean "submission"? Peace where no one is free to disagree. All bow to one dictator. The peace train has long since been derailed. Don't think it will ever get back on track.

Since you asked, Patrick, I'll get a little technical her -- the three consonant root "s-l-m" generates words related to peace. "Silm" is your run of the mill peace. "Salaam" is an Arabic intensive form for "silm" which means the "ultimate peace" which comes from believing in Islam .... "Islam" is a Arabic word form that technically means "creating the conditions for silm -- How? by "submisssion" (Islam) to the will of Allah as revealed to Mohammed, of course
