Song Parodies -> Parody
| Original Song Title: | "Tapestry" |
| Original Performer: | Carole King |
| Parody Song Title: | "Parody" |
| Parody Written by: | Laurie Alexander |
For all of you...........
The songs I write are parodies;
On pace and funny too.
My own original version
Of a better well-known song
They are carefully written
Mixing in new and old
A parody to write and sing
to post to amiright
And, once I get some good words
Churning in my mind
There are ideas to think of
To rhyme with lines above
I check the pace and the meaning of
My words, how well they rhyme
And, I sing it so many times
Until I am satisfied
I post with some uncertainty
Because I do not know
Will it be well received
Or will it just fall flat
I read the posted comments
And then I break out in hives
But, the ratings were all fives
,
Will you read my parody
And rate and comment too
I like to read what you say
About my songs’ wordplay
It seems that I’m addicted
To writing these silly songs
And I keep on thinking of more
Though I don’t sing that well
And I read with great awe
All those that I revere
You wonderful parodists
Who share your best ideas
When I get inspired to write
I read through amiright
Now this parody is ending
It’s time to hit submit
It’s time to hit submit
On pace and funny too.

Thanks for reaching out to all of us and sharing about our common plight...APP...addictive parody posting
Good stuff, Laurie. I think it could have used a good (or bad) pun or something, but it very accurately portrays us AmIRighters.
*deep deep voice* welcome to the addiction, Laurie - see you in the comps - and nice parody btw - 555
