This parody was inspired by the "freegan" lifestyle (see their web page: http://www.freegan.info/). Freegans (a play on vegans) protest the excesses associated with consumerism by making an interesting alternative life-style choice.

Everybody was dumpster diving
Looking for good, free dining
In fact it was a little bit frightening
Too easy chow we were finding
We are funky freegan folks from funky freegan-town
We won't allow consumerism to keep us down
It's a tasty buffet mishmash where we feast upon excess trash
From a donut to pumpkins, we're eating from waste bins.
There was fancy gourmet bread from the Supermarket.
We said see the garbage truck, lets follow it
We took bagels and made our stands, started signing with our hands
Our motion made the truck to stop, now we're on a moving food shop
