The Lyrics

Upon entering this new year, I decided to reflect on the previous 18 5/6 (approximate) years of my life, which is practically my whole life until this point. It's been an interesting journey, with good times, bad times, and ugly times. So, I decided to dedicate this song to myself & my accomplishments. Though I'm only 18, I feel like my life has been years longer than that, and I'm proud that my family, friends, & others have supported me during this time. Maybe 18 years from now, I'll write a Part 2, assuming this website still exists. Anyways, enjoy the parody. DKTOS? (Don't Know The Original Song?)
(Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!) (x8)

There was a special kid born in the Ocean State,
For his family, this day was especially great.
They later discovered that he had autism,
But they decided not to send him to prison.
His mother had meetings with his teachers
About his special condition.
Later, when he became more mature,
His symptoms lessened.

Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Winner of the spelling bee, *
Now here’s a cat that really is weird.
Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Filled with sadness & with glee,
So many plans he has engineered.

He was hardly perfect, but he really tried hard,
And no matter what, he did really wunderbar.
When he was in 4th grade, he won the spelling bee,
And his comrades were cheering for his victory.
He got along with both of his brothers,
Though sometimes they would have fights.
He respected his father & mother
Every day & night.

Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Winner of the spelling bee,
Now here’s a cat that really is weird.
Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Filled with sadness & with glee,
So many plans he has engineered.

(Spoken):
But when 9/11 occurred,
Dylan grew more and more disaffected with the world
And vowed to serve and protect his community when he grew up.**

(Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!) (x8)

He graduated school, & went off to college,
He is a smart dude, & he’ll always be straight-edged.
No doubt he’ll study hard, & avoid doing harm,
Unless it’s crucial to protect his comrades in arms.
He is kind & very understanding,
And he’s loyal to his friends.
Despite what his elders are demanding,
He will reach the end.

Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Winner of the spelling bee,
He doesn’t drink beer, whiskey or wine.***
Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Filled with sadness & with glee,
No matter what, he’ll always do fine.

Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Winner of the spelling bee,
He’s got many plans within his head.
Dyl-Dyl-Dylan B,
Filled with sadness & with glee,
He won’t quit ‘till his problems are dead.

(Spoken):
Dylan, you’ve done it again!
*-To be exact, the district spelling bee. I've only made it up to the state level, and I'm disappointed that the maximum grade for the spelling bee is only 8. I would've won at the national level sometime in high school! Really!
**-I was in 7th grade when 9/11 happened, and technically, i've wanted to be a policeman since 6th grade, but 9/11 made me want to be a policeman even more.
***-Or any other alcoholic beverage for that matter. I also don't smoke & I have never used drugs, unless prescribed by a doctor.
