The Lyrics

this parody includes some names you might recognise(i hope your not copyrighted !)
friday night i wrote my parody
sat-urday i sub-mit-ted
sunday came i bashed one out again
it was lonely having fun
and the whole thing wasn't done
so we all annoyed my best friend cos he's strange

like an axe-head to the pubic bone
i stalked the dead horde in the zone
even slowed my dense skull with co-caine
i was brave because i tried
but i wrote it and survived
so who said that only proves i should complain

oh amiright
my sight is hazy
but i just may be the tunatic your looking for
oh amiright
oh how i crave ye
you know the song that i be-stow
is for amiright

remember how we flounder there
prone in our ecclectic chair
i went through thirty smokes my wife supplied
mines not the only full trash can
my computers filled its ram
so i can't employ the contests for a while

now think of all the beers we plied stu
kind kristoff will pacify you
amirights a crazy place to play
it's rhyme crazy with this crew
with johnny cat and sue
and matthias ant me arwen jeff and ray

yo ! amiright
yes you will praise me
cos we just may be the tunatics your looking for
i so hate the light
is it to late to change it
my songs all wrong for all i know
but it's amiright

hey amiright
hey you don't faze me
but we just may be the tunatics of old folk lore
turns out it's tight
three 5s they gave me
don't know the song that they all know
it's on amiright

wrote my song it's on amiright

cheech and chong it's on amiright

old n young it's on amiright

there's no gong not on amiright

don't wear your thong its family site

remember....DRUGS YOU DO EM ----YOU DIE !

a bit off on pacing, and a spelling error, but I don't take off penaltis for spelling errors eh?
The Charnstar - September 27, 2006 - Report this comment
Pacing is a bit iffy at places, but great work. 5-5-5

SOTM - The coining of the word "tunatic" alone was worth 5s. :-)
Agrimorfee - October 10, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) To judge at this level-- the first 2 lines cried for a good rhyme, and verse 2 was really weird, but this was pretty good.
tomario - October 11, 2006 - Report this comment
thanks for your comments - verse 2 was me going through ideas for my parody (i've said that and it still looks weird ! lol )

Ditto what Ag said- but, call me a pedant, I'd love to have seen appropriate apostrophes in "you're" (when it's short for "you are") ;-)

(SOTM) What the last to guys said, pretty good, but some things were a bit iffy. 4-4-4. Straight 4's, does anyone do them anymore?
Stuart McArthur - October 16, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) wow, tomario, some GREAT wordplay here - "tunatics" and "eclectic chair" - and I wish I could remember all the beers you plied me (a great couplet btw) and some great rhymes too (although occasionally I could see you striving for the rhyme;-)) - perfect OS for the job too - 555

(SOTM) "Tunatic" is a great word, tomario. A bit off on pacing but, overall, a good write. I did the same theme to the same song a year or so ago.

(SOTM) You SLOWED yourself with cocaine? Wow, you must be HIGH energy! I second both Stu's and Rick's comments, though IMHO the word-for-word rhymes throughout outweigh the minor pacing blips. 5s.

(SOTM) Clever in many places. Don't know what tunatics means, but I thought parodists would be appropriate too.

sotm-Tunatics: People crazy about tuna? Nice job, and thanks for the shout out!

SOTM - Not bad, the rhyming is excellent. Pacing is not so good but I've seen worse.
bobpiecheese - October 30, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Pacinf is a little off, but as I didn't have to dig up an mp3 for this (which I usually have to do with these contests), it balances out. And I think I know what a 'tunatic' is, but I couldn't be entirely sure. Nice work!
Kristof Robertson - October 30, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) How can I not be effusive with praise when I got a mention? (btw, for future reference, tomario, it's one "f" in Kristof). "Tunatics" was my fave as well. Minor pacing blips aside (keep an eye on that..) this was a load of fun. 5s
Chick Daney - November 01, 2006 - Report this comment
This one's actually from the 80s', but in the parody author's defense, Mr. Joel probably recorded it in 1979. So we can probably let it slide.
tomario - December 18, 2006 - Report this comment
remember "insania "? well a "tunatic" is someone who is "fanatical" about "tunes" amirighters love their tunes !!! thanks for the comments !
