Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Always Chicago to Me"

Parody Written by:

Freddie C.

It's the home of the blues, you'll hear it lots and lots
It's the home of the Cubs and the jealous White Sox
You can say what you want about the Windy City
But I love my hometown, cause it's always Chicago to me

It's the home of Sears-Roebuck, controlled by their heirs
It's the home of the Bulls and the home of the Bears
And you know that there's no place that I'd rather be
And it could make you sad but it's always Chicago to me

Oh the Blues Brothers I love, They go out on the road, but they love their town
Oh and they can sing real well, And you gotta see them, they will not let you down

I can feel the breeze blowing so fresh off the lake, and the name Windy City--it's not a mistake
Cause I'm used to this weather, it won't bother me
You don't wanna go there, but it's always Chicago to me

I can see into Wrigley and oh what a view! From the rooftops in right field on Sheffield Avenue
If you're scared of heights you may not want to go to those rooftops or the Sears Tower, stay on the streets
But it's always Chicago to me

This confirms it: The White Sox are the saddest franchise of them all. How can I say that? Because they're jealous of the CUBS! Could be worse, I suppose: Instead of that phony Comiskey at 35th & Shields, they could be playing in that white elephant in Tampa Bay.

Pretty good work here, Freddy. Pacing was a off in several areas, but your rhyme scheme is darn good in others. My favorite example: "I can feel the breeze blowing so fresh off the lake, and the name Windy City--it's not a mistake". Keep it up, man.
