The Lyrics

Hope ya like1
· Your movie came out on a Wednesday
Movie reviews started comin' in
The name of the movie was "Gigli"
It was a huge flop at the box office

It was a bigger flop than J. Lo's booty
It was probably as entertaining as her toes
Then all this gossip about them kept on comin;
Ben and J.Lo really kept on their toes

La la la, de de da
La la, de de da da dum

Chorus:
It's all this gossip about them, man
It's comin' from left and right
The stories ARE BIG AS Jen's booty
Yeah, it sure is big alright
·
Now Ben started fame with his friend Matt
Both made Good Will Hunting
It was so big, they won a lot of awards
But there's someplace that he'd rather be Even that naked golden one from the Academy
·
Then he went out with Gwyneth Paltrow
He did several movies for Kevin Smith
Now he is a big huge movie star
Not one anyone could replace

Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da dum

Now Jen has a real estate booty
Did the song "Waiting For Tonight"
She once played the singer Selena
Then did much more in her life

She made the movie "The Wedding Planner"
Then married that guy Cris Judd
Then she made that "Maid in Manhattan"
· Then met that Ben Affleck

Chorus
sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight well we're all in the mood
for a melody and you got us feeling alright

Then they made the movie Gigli, man, it was a flop alright
Then they planned a September wedding
Then they postponed it and went to Splitesville

Ben was once caught in a casino
Jen started a Lingerie line
Before that, Jen found about Ben in a strip club
They'll be out of the limelight for a while
And J. Lo, had a dress by Vera Wang
Before the big wedding incident
For a while, there wont be so much gossip
And more they do,m less we'll hopefully here
·
Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da dum

Chorus:
It's all this gossip about them, man
It's comin' from left and right
The stories ARE BIG AS Jen's booty
Yeah, it sure is big alright

Good idea, but you need to work on pacing

Pacing is a key component. Lots of attraction in the parody but the pace causes distraction. I voted you three 4's. Some work on your pace and timing would make this worth 5s. Keep writing.

Yep, Jack, pacing was an issue. You seem to have an interesting obsession with JLo's booty!

"Gigli" was better than this. So was the way the season ended for Ben's Red Sox.

(ABC3O) As has been said before, the pacing needs work. Good to see your earlier works as a reference point: you've improved quite a bit in the past three years.

(ABC3) This was not one of your better ones, Jack. The ideas were pretty scattered around, the rhymes didn't make sense sometimes (and you rhymed "toes" with "toes"! gach!)
Michael McVey - January 11, 2007 - Report this comment
The idea was good, I think it deserves a 5 for humor. I noticed some serious pacing problems, though.----MM

big billy joel fan.and i am totally lost! whats "sing us a song you're the piano man sing us a song tonight well we're all in the mood for a melody and you got us feeling alright" doing in the middle ? very strange.

(ABC3O) I'm a great fan of the OS. Unfortunately for you, I got lost. I understand the topic (thanks to Spaff) but the pacing...and the rhymes...definitely not one of your best. And the original chorus in the middle there...oh dear. Better luck next time, Jack.
Stuart McArthur - January 13, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC3-O) gee, it's not like you didn't have enough ideas Jack, and good ones, but if it doesn't pace, like this doesn't, it's just too hard to get through

ABC3 - Please, copy and paste BobPieCheese's comment.. especially the Spaff part

Sorry Jack, this must have been one of your earlier works, because this isn't all that great... It's okay, but rhyming toes, with toes in the first stanza... Dude, you got so much better than this over time
Kristof Robertson - January 15, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC3O) I'm not gonna tell ya anything you don't already know, Jack...you're a HELLUVA lot better than this now. This parody only really serves as a reminder of how far you've come.
