This one's for you, Michael Pacholek. I know how much you love baseball, so I'm writing this song just for you and every major-league baseball fan out there. (If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have made all those NBA parodies possible. Come see them all.) Thanks again for the inspiration.
I smell the magic in the air
And the beauty of it all is when the sun comes shining down
The perfect time for a game
And we want to play today, it's the perfect time right now
Just the nine of us, we can win it if we try
Just the nine of us (Just the nine of us)
Just the nine of us, doing great things on the field
Just the nine of us, you and I
They came to see us score some runs, maybe hit some homeruns
And it's the greatest part of all
Our pitcher wants to strike them out, but our hitters don't want that
They just want to hit that ball
Just the nine of us, we can win it if we try
Just the nine of us (Just the nine of us)
Just the nine of us, doing great things on the field
Just the nine of us, you and I
(saxophone solo)
I smell the magic in the air
And everywhere around the park, we can see a great, big crowd
And nothing's better than the sight of the home team victory
We wanna give that win to them
Just the nine of us, we can win it if we try
Just the nine of us (Just the nine of us)
Just the nine of us, doing great things on the field
Just the nine of us, you and I
(Just the nine of us) Just the nine of us
(Just the nine of us) Let's play some ball, now
(Just the nine of us) Just the nine of us
(Just the nine of us)
(saxophone joins in as background singers continue repeating "Just the nine of us")
And the beauty of it all is when the sun comes shining down
The perfect time for a game
And we want to play today, it's the perfect time right now
Just the nine of us, we can win it if we try
Just the nine of us (Just the nine of us)

If I were in a better mood, I probably would have loved this. How long before George fires Donnie (We Can't Hit the) Baseball? It feels like the first half of 1978 all over again. Of course, I wouldn't mind repeating the second half of '78...
My memory of the song's a little rusty, but great title. I'll have to mention this one.
