Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Them leaves,
Trash the corners of my yard
Oak and maple, even plum leaves
Hate the way they whirl..

Scattered mixtures,
From a summer left behind
Leaves we greeted warm in springtime
See the way they whirl..

Fresh and green,
Loved the way they glistened then
Now, they're old and dry and brittle
Next year spring will dance and do it all again
Budding lightly, brightly..

Them leaves
Once were beautiful and yet,
Now they're just a pain in my butt
The wind won't let me forget..

So it's the mower,
Lawn bags and blower
I hate it in October,
The way they whirl..

The way they whirl

I get the "drift" of these well-"composted" lyrics. To paraphrase Frank Sinatra, "Spring and Autumn ... you can't have one without the other." Forget the bags -- compost the leaves etc. for a better Spring. 555

Sir L'Eave de Fall, take it easy with the rake, Sir ! Do enjoy the crisp Autumn air, as you broom with a flair!

I'm leaving you with fives. I agree with OMR: you are the poet laureate of the quotidian.

Good imagery. I can see the colored leaves blowing away, just an inch past the edge of the rake. Remember the old days when everyone would pile them up in the corner of the yard and burn them?
