I amassed a certain knowledge of Islamic History in my time and sometimes Im invited to lecture grade school kids about it .. And I find that, for some reason, their attention gets riveted when I use the song "In the Year 2525" as a teaching tool. Now why a totally daffy song from 1969 that bored all of their grandparents half to death 55 years ago would work is anyone's guess. But here goes ...
In the year AD 525
If Aws can stay alive
If Hazraj can survive
They may find
In the year 635
Wont be betrayed by Jews, aint no lie
Everything you think, hear or say
Is in the Surah that you read today

Aint gonna have no peace
Damn you, Shi'ites

*Aws and Khazraj are tribes that help found Medina, and were allies to Mohammed in his wars with Mecca .. Jaish Rasool - Army of The Prophet ... Words in Arabic are lamentations -- Ya maa and Kull Wa'il

I did the first part 8 years ago, but not the second part. I suddenly realized that Islamic did NOT end in 1295 .. and that another Zager and Evans referenced history update was necessary
