Well, I'm not sure if any of you will be even mildly acquainted with this group from the mid-to-late 60's. They actually were pretty good...I liked them, anyway. My parody character accidently feeds his friend the cat's dinner in a moment of distracted attention...the disclosure doesn't make anyone happy.
That stuff that I just gave you
I meant to feed the cat
Got a phone call; mind wandered
Really sorry about that
I'm sure that it won't hurt you
I read what's in the can
I screwed up, yes, I blundered
Yeah, I'm sorry 'bout that, man
[instrumental break]
[spoken during instrumental - tries to explain and rationalize the mistake to his unhappy friend]
Used mouthwash and he gargled
Blew big chunks in the can
He barfed out his whole dinner
Of that stuff meant for the cat
[Instrumental jam - guitar & drum]
[thins down to fade out - just bass & tambourine left at finish]
[Continuous retching and barfing sounds in the background with an occasional "meow" from the still-unfed and hungry cat]
