| Parody Song Title: | "Costume of Pleather" |
| Parody Written by: | Ravyn Rant |
If you watch much figure skating, you may have noticed how some male skaters go to very great, and sometimes ridiculous lengths to give the judges an impression of, well, butch-ness. While this is not meant for any one skater, it was inspired by many.
Oh I can jump and spin on ice
And think that I look just as cool as Michael Welss
A medal and a six-point-oh would sure be nice
In costume of pleather
If I were on the street people would stare
But when I skate I feel just like Brian Joubert
I look up at the podium, see myself there
In costume of pleather
Dance and leap and try not to fall on my face
In clothes that squeak
I won't skate in sequins or fishnet or lace
'Cause I'd look weak!
Vinyl, mesh, some PVC
Go shirtless so the little girls will scream at me
I'll watch them throw their teddy bears at manly me
In costume of pleather
Bet you wonder how I can do a big split
In such tight pants
People love me even when I skate like (an amateur)
Just ask in France!
Watch me skate, hey look at me
I'll double-foot the biggest jumps you'll ever see
Dick Button loves my slash-and-burn vitality
In costume of pleather
My costume of pleather
I borrowed from Heather
That costume of pleather
Borrowed from Heather...
And think that I look just as cool as Michael Welss

I am a figure skating fan. This parody is so true. And Michael Weiss' "tatooed" chest skating costume isn't too pretty either.
Flows smooth and easy...makes good sense..good rhymes..good job..Interesting theme...It's all there.
Very well done!!
Thanks again, everybody!
Great on all counts; subject, meter, humour and I could sing this without having to stretch some words or run other words together at double-time. But perhaps the best part is that I KNOW this skater! I've seen him at least once in EVERY ice show and competition. You've got him pegged 6.0! Funny thing is, if a guy is REALLY masculine, he could wear all the lace and frills and the real man would still shine through. While other skaters dress like James Dean and still come across like Nancy Kerrigan in Drag.
