The Lyrics

You can hear a MIDI of the song here..http://www.garyrog.50megs.com/midi1.html
Hey, George Steinbrenner
Buyin' up the AL MVPs
Most teams can't compete with your collected mercenaries... they loath you

Hey, George Steinbrenner
Luring all the bats, payroll sky high
Money that you spend's a crime, the small markets have no prayer
You're always pennant shopping, good sense, retraint you do lack
It's time to cap your ass with a cap, on salaries

Hey, George Steinbrenner
Losin' to the Fish sure hurt your pride
With a sal'ry cap you're fried, and oh what a change there'd be
No World Series for you Steinbrenner

Hey, George Steinbrenner
Whatcha gonna do without the cash?
Hire a Haitian voodoo high priestess to hex Manny's bat? ...cork Jeter's?

Hey, George Steinbrenner
Pox upon the nation's field of dreams
Grab the reigns from you and Se-lig, sane folks should run the game
We need some things to change, and some pain will have to be felt
You'll have to stash your cash on the shelf, and lose a bit

Hey, George Steinbrenner
Losin' to the Fish sure hurt your pride
With a sal'ry cap you're fried, and oh what a change there'd be
No World Series for you Steinbrenner

(Hey there, Georgy girl)
You're done, Steinbrenner
(Hey there, Georgy girl)
You're done, Steinbrenner
(Hey there, Georgy girl)
Give up, Steinbrenner
Go Sox!

Great parody - 555 - well done.

I remember summer nights at the ball game When they were still played for fun Mickey Mantle is gone, now SAY HEY! what a shame But he had his day in the sun. 555 for intelligence and truth.

Four times the payroll of the World Series winner - a hot dog and beer will probably cost $15 in the Bronx this year. For Torre, managing this year's team has got to be a little like managing the All Star game a few years ago - too many shortstops and not enough pitching. And, ah, note to Willie Mays: STOP CHARGING THE KIDS FOR AUTOGRAPHS.

Great job spoofing a man who has almost ruined baseball just like Georgie Bush has almost ruined America

I'll pay you all $100,000,000 to write me a parody of "Take Me Out To The Ball-Game", and I'll finance it by jacking up the price of a hot-dog to $1,000,000.

Yes, Georgie Boy (not to be confused with Boy George) has been asking for this for a long time.

Thanks everyone for your comments. If this really is a good parody though, I fear for the future of song parody as an art form. Look at the response this got at this Red Sox fan board I sometimes visit... http://mb3.theinsiders.com/fbostonredsoxfrm1.showMessage?topicID=3851.topic ...about 80 views, and 3 responses so far. One person liked it, one hated it, and one was totally confused about what I was doing.

Good one mac. I'm a recovered Cub fan myself. No WAY are they suckin' me back in. NO WAY. What, they got Maddux back? Crap.
