Song Parodies -> I'll Never Clone Another Me
| Original Song Title: | "I'll Never Find Another You" |
| Original Performer: | The Seekers |
| Parody Song Title: | "I'll Never Clone Another Me" |
| Parody Written by: | Patrick McWilliams |
This is my 20th parody submitted. By coincidence, I am revisiting the theme of my first parody, "Send in the Clones". As usual, a snivelling bunch of narrow-minded petty bureaucrats (Is there any other kind?) took exception to my plans for world conquest via an army of myselves.
There's a new world coming
A science wonderland
But there's one procedure
That's been forever banned
I could search the whole world over
For some stem cells, two or three
But the feds won't let me clone another me
There is always someone
Who wants to have a say
In the disposition
Of my own DNA
I could mix a little physics
With a bit of chemistry
But the feds won't let me clone another me
It's a long, strange pathway
On which I hope to stride
As I walk through this world
I could be by my side
It might cost me a fortune
But the payoff would be great
I could earn it back tomorrow
When I start to replicate
But there's bureaucratic logjams
As far as I can see
And the feds won't let me clone another me
Narrow-minded politicians
Who are too blind to see
And they'll never let me clone another me
Another me
Another me
A science wonderland
But there's one procedure
That's been forever banned
I could search the whole world over
For some stem cells, two or three
But the feds won't let me clone another me
There is always someone
Who wants to have a say
In the disposition
Of my own DNA

But the feds won't let me clone another me
It's a long, strange pathway
On which I hope to stride
As I walk through this world
I could be by my side

But the payoff would be great
I could earn it back tomorrow
When I start to replicate
But there's bureaucratic logjams
As far as I can see
And the feds won't let me clone another me
Narrow-minded politicians
Who are too blind to see
And they'll never let me clone another me
Another me
Another me

Me and my clone are giving you 5s.
A trebly-cloned 5 makes 555 for this one, Loved the OS back in the day -- sounded great on the electric 12-string I had 'til it some soulless sh*t-for-brains stole it the summer between college & grad school.
The answer to your introductory rhetorical question is - No, there is no other kind. The assessment of this parody is - It's one of a kind - very good, Patrick.
