Song Parodies -> Paint it Pink
| Original Song Title: | "Paint it Black" |
| Original Performer: | The Rolling Stones |
| Parody Song Title: | "Paint it Pink" |
| Parody Written by: | Susanna Viljanen |
In continuum to my previous Beatles parody "Pregnancy"
I see a grey door and I want it painted pink
The thoughts of motherhood are ones that I now think
I see the girls walk by with tummies grown and 'round
I simply cannot keep my feet tight on the ground
I see a mom with pram and it is coloured pink
I'd like to chat with her and give her happy wink
I see children play with sleighs and skiing and having fun
Like I did thirty-some years back when I was young
I'm bearing life in my womb, one that's young and green
I could not have thought this thing's happening to me
If I look hard enough into the Autumn come
it's time for childbirth - and I will be a mom
I think our white wallpapers really should be pink
So in the pinkness we could really, really sink
It is storm of emotions run deep inside of me
I could have not thought that we just will soon be three
I see a grey door and I want it painted pink
The thoughts of motherhood are ones that I now think
I see the girls walk by with tummies grown and 'round
I simply cannot keep my feet tight on the ground

This was pretty good. I liked the way you didn't try to make the parody outstandingly funny. You kept the same feel as the original song, kind of low and almost depressing. Great job. =D
Loved it - pacing was a trifle weak.
First of all, what if it turns out that the necessary color is blue? Second of all... "I see a mom with pram and it is coloured pink." I thought Pram tablets were yellow. Maybe I'd better shut up. I don't want to be around when those mood swings kick in.
Awww... unfortunately, "blue" has a somewhat negative psychological side meaning in English, meaning "melancholic". But you are right, the colour in this song could just as well have been baby blue as well.
