Parody Song Title:

"Steroid Confession"

Parody Written by:

Mark Scotti

The Lyrics

I left him out in my "Talkin' Steroids", so I'm getting him NOW!!!
The pain of your guilt trips
Showing public your fear
You’re sounding like a cry-baby
Say your records are true, but no-one can hear, because

A-Rod's steroid confession
Saying not your fault that they drugged you
In your steroid confession
How can you tell all the fans that "I blame you,"

"I blame you..."

Now all the gold gloves you wore on your hand, were they druggist planned?
And you say now your clean, it will all be fine
You're out of your mind!

Drugged out through the game day
Ego has no spine
Passing another record, maybe
Records will be, with an asterisk sign, because

A-Rod's steroid confession
Says it's all in the past and you're all through
In your steroid confession
Steinbrenner believes cause he wants to
HE WANTS TO!!!!

Now all your mighty home runs that you slammed, are records to be damned?
Now who is the true king, please give me a sign
Not pharmacy rhymes...

A-Rod's steroid confession
Telling the baseball word of your code blue
(repeat)

Whaa Whaa-Whaa Whaa Whaa Whaa Whaa-Whaa
Whaa Whaa-Whaa Whaa Whaa Whaa Whaa-Whaa

nice job on this...you've touch upon a subject i feel deeply about...especially liked the "druggist planned" word swap.......baseball is like a religion to me and these guys are blasphemers in my book

As Amiright's biggest Yankee Fan, all I can say is... Alex, you're killin' me here!

Thanks, Alvin. To Michael, thanks and I agree with you. I am a Yankee fan as well and this kills me!! I thought there was a faint glint of hope that someone in this modern age would set a "clean" record! That's why you have to appreciate the old timers. What happened to the days where drinking, smoking, debauchery and fighting still produced records yet to be topped!

I'm not a Yankee fan but I'm not a hater either; can't we all just go back to pretending everyone's clean and forget this whole thing? Also, good idea for a parody and well executed.

Nice, er, injection of humor into this old OS, Mark!

I agree with Alvin on the point of using performance-enhancing drugs in baseball being blasphemy. It is the same in any other sport, or so I think. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Tiger Woods uses it if in fact he did. Great job, and 5s.

...and to think that they wanted to put an asterisk by Roger Maris' 61 home runs, breaking the Babe's record of 60, 'cuz the season had been extended from 154 games to 162. Loved the great use of OS and the varied choruses. Uhhh.... you didn't write this parody on steriods, did ya? :-) -- TT.

Good parody, Mark, but isn't this event a bit overdone. Someone leaks confidential samples that indicated A-Rod took performance-enhancing drugs and he is crucified on news, sports talk shows and AmiRight 24-7. Jim Leyritz, a former MLB player is alleged to have killed a man (under the influence) and no one is indignant.

I don't follow sports (except for the Cavs), but I love anything by the Grass Roots, so had to stop by and give this a read! :-)

Glad ya liked, Meriadoc! It was one of my favorite Grass Roots songs.

Mark, you don't know me (yet), but one of my (many) annoying habits is punning on my own handle when posting comments. My bad. -- Tommy Turtle, steroid-free and all-natural.

You are not Chopped Liver, Mr. Turtle, and I really appreciated the comment. Thanks!!!!!
