Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Nasty Chemistry"

Parody Written by:

Susanna Viljanen

The Lyrics

TNT -
Nitric acid and some toluene
Acid catalyst and stir machine
Oh, that's how prepare TNT

LSD -
that's the Hippie hallucinogene
Extract the ergots in Soxhlet macine
Oh, that's how prepare LSD

Why did that stuff blow - up, don't know, I cannot say
Did I something wrong, heat too much or go somehow astray-ay?

Amphetamine-
Pnenylacetic acid anhydride
Add ammonia, slow dripping speed
That's how prepare amphetamine

Why did that stuff blow - up, don't know, I cannot say
Did I something wrong, heat too much or go somehow astray-ay?

Nitroglycerol -
Drip nitric acid on that alcohol
On ice bath, and add some vitriol
Recipe of nitroglycerol

Susan - nice chemistry lesson here, 5-5-5 from me...

again, the pacing seemed a bit forced and they was some strange sentence structure going on...but i thought this was very clever, otherwise...you seem to know a little bit too much about making these items, too...hee hee hee..just what are doing down in your basement, anyway ?

In our basement? We have there a home brewery, of course! Seriously, I've studied chemistry in university, and I know also the dark side of the subject. Those syntheses I mentioned do exist, but I won't suggest anyone to try them. Especially nitroglycerol synthesis is extremely dangerous. Still, the more sinister side of chemistry is a good source for song parodies.

Original topic, though I have to agree that the sentence structure was mangled a bit too much and that bomb chemicals are hard to turn into an amusing parody theme. Straight 4's from me...

You know why I liked this one? Let me give you a clue: http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles55.shtml ;-) (..and you did mean "phenylacetic" acid, presumably? ;-) )
