Original Song Title:

"She Said, She Said"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Deadheads"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

deadheads
you know that they live for the dead
you know that they want them so bad
and they make a big squeal when the band doth perform

deadheads
look at all those freaks with long hair
freaks that dance around like they're mad
and the scene is surreal, where the tie-dyes are worn

some said...you don't understand..jerry's dead
they said, no no no, you're wrong
we are filled with joy
everything's alright...everything's alright

deadheads
even though they know he won't show
i know they still all believe
they do drugs a great deal, when they group in a swarm

some said...we just cannot stand grateful dead
they said, no no no, you're wrong
there's much to enjoy
don't be so uptight..don't be so uptight

deadheads
even though they know he won't show
i know that they're still filled with grief
in the music, they feel like, his spirit's reborn

deadheads
you know that they live for the dead
(you know that they live for the dead)
you know that they want them so bad
(you know that they want them so bad)

Incisive commentary on a bizarre phenom. Great line: "some said...you don't understand..jerry's dead."

There was a joke I remember from years ago. Jerry Garcia got himself in rehab and gave up drinking and drugs. got out and went to his first rehearsal all clean. Afterwards he says "Man, this band sure sucks". (Oh, don't get mad, just change the names and use it on someone else's favorite band.)

Very groovy parody.

Rick D - LOL on your comment - REAL LOUD, too. Except for "Workingman's Dead" and "American Beaut y", two really fine albums the 'Dead put out during a one year period in the early 70's everything they ever did was pretty damned sloppy sounding to me; excessively long and poorly played jams were a particular specialty. But those two albums showed what they COULD HAVE done, had they been so inclined and perhaps a bit more sober...Alvin -5's for you here, nice job...
