Song Parodies -> "Hey Dude"

Original Song Title:

"Hey Jude"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Hey Dude"

Parody Written by:

Fred Pickles and the Rightcouch

The Lyrics

Fred did it, Rightcouch looked it over to make it work syllable-wise. Anyway, I thought the idea of turning a song about a depressed man into a song about an expert car mechanic was hilarious, mainly because the theme of the original is to "take a sad song and make it better". Anyway, enjoy!
Hey Dude, don't make it bad
Take a crapped car and fix it up
Remember, to use the gas and the brakes
And do what it takes to fix it up

Hey Dude, don't be afraid
You were made to go be a car aid
The minute, the minute you fixed that tire
I knew it was you,
'Cause it didn't catch fire

And anytime you feel like crap, Hey Dude, hold back
Don't hold a Mercedes on your shoulders
For you know that you can't hold her upon your shoulder
So come on out from under that boulder

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah

Hey Dude, don't let me down
You have your car, now go and drive it
Remember, to use the steering wheel
And not fall asleep, in those comfy seats

So drive it out and drive it in, Hey Dude, begin
You're a saint to the cars across the world
And don't you know that you'll live through
It's not just you
Your friends all think you have mental problems

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah

Hey Dude, don't make it bad
Take a crapped car and fix it up
Remember, to use the gas and the brakes
And do what it takes to fix it up

Up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, oh

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah
Hey Dude...
(Repeat to Fade)

Rightcouch...you're FIRED. Pacing is terribly off. Humor is nearly non-existent

Nex time, don't try to replace "better" with "up". (hard to get past that)

Have to agree about the pacing, and unfortunately the poor read hurts the flow of the humor, too. 2-3-3

Your pacing was off, but I thought it was funny. The lyrics to the original song were bad enough, so yours were an improvement.

It was ok...needed spiffing up.
