Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"We Work On Wood"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

home ec is for girls
or if you're gay
that's not for me
i signed up for shop
isn't it good
we work on wood
he showed me the lathe
and he told me i had to take care
but i screwed around
and i sawed off the legs to his chair

he pulled out his smokes
nicotine time
then he felt fine
he counted till ten
and then he said
you could be dead
he sent me to home ec next morning
and started to laugh
i told him i wouldn't
be caught in that creepy old class

he left me alone
accident prone
i'm on my own
so i stick to pliers
isn't it good
we work on wood

Very good, Alvin. I'll have to check out your other parodies later today. Looks like you've been a busy writer.

I'd score it a six, would if I could, this song is good.

Ya know, it's one of those that makes you chuckle. Sloated - I read your comment and re-read before voting (giving your comment consideration) - the original line is "Or should I say" - so I have to disagree with you on this one. It fit the rhyme and, assuming Mr. Rhodes is not gay bashing here, it's a funny line.

Yeah, Robert J. is right, it's a typical school-boy insult and is a rhyme here, nothing more. I went to an all-boys school for grades 7 - 12, and because I was a nerd, I got called all kinds of names that today aren't " P-C "...... this "g" word here was, of course, one of them. This is a well-structured parody, Alvin, you've got a good knack for pacing. 5's
