The Lyrics

These songs were released by the Soviet-era Beatles tribute band, The Zhukovs, on the hit album Gorky Road. A hundred Amiright bucks to anyone who gets the joke
Oh, Stalin! Please believe me
I never meant you no harm
Believe me when I tell you
I'll never do you no harm

Oh Stalin! If you kill me
My wife cant make it alone
Believe me when I beg you
Irina wont make it alone

When you told me
I didnt clap for you long enough
Well you know, I nearly broke down and cried
When you told me
I didnt cheer for you loud enough
Well I nearly broke down and died ...

Believe me, Iusuf ...

When you told me (Боже мой!!)
You dont believe me anymore
Well you know, I nearly broke down and cried
When you told me
You believed I was a member of the Trotskyite-Zinoviev Counterrevolutionary Cabal
Well you know, I nearly broke down and died

Oh Stalin, if you bleed me
Ill never MAKE IT alone
Believe me when I tell you
I'll never DO YOU no harm

(Also on Side 1 of Gorky Road is this tribute to Stalin's successor, Nikita Khrushchev)

Here come ol' Khrushchev
He come trashing Joe Stalin
He got Jew Jew mentor
He just play hardballin'
He's hairless down to his feet
Got to be a wild man
He just make "Secret Speech"*

Come together, right now .. o'er Len-NEEN**

He close to Ukraine
He work .. steel in Donbass
He have .. peasant upbring
He shoot U-2 spy plane
He say "I know you, you know me
One thing I can tell you is we must purge Trotsky"

Come together, right now .. O'er Lenin

No corn production
He got .. woeful harvest
He got .. Sputnik sideshow
He one .. Kulak purger
He got Lev down on his knees
Watch him at the show trial
You will feel Lev's unease

Come together. Right now .. O'er Lenin

He roly poly
He get .. dearth of warning
He got .. Commie plotters
They grant .. comfy dacha
He say "***Brezh and Shlep and Sash make three
Got to go along peaceful
Cause there's no chance for me

Come together, right now .. o'er Lenin

*Where he denounces Stalin .. **Actual pronunciation of Lenin's name, so it works .... Khrushchev was deposed by troika of Leondid Brezhnev, Alexei Kosygin (Sasha) and some third guy to be named later

Funskiy Fact: Khrushchev name is actually pronounced Hrushchyoff, which if you think of it, tracks "ol' Flat Top, even better than you could possibly imagine. Even CML was unaware of this (Not). That "Kh" is a type of "hard H" So what this means is that NOBODY in the West ever pronounced his name correctly, even back in the day when he and JFK almost destroyed all life on the plane during the Cuban Missile Misunderstanding. In fact, they always made TWOmistakes. ....... And as for plotter #3, his name was Alexander Shelepin, but he was immediately Gulagged by Brezhnev and Kosygin, so he doesn't matter
