Parody Song Title:

"Aries K"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

Some of us will remember that car... during a time when the Volkswagen and Japanese imports were wearing down the auto industry. The answer, apparently, was a FWD 4 cylinder 84 hp boxy no frills product in 4 K-car models. Most prominent was the unforgettable Aries K.
When the auto industry was in trouble
Beaten by the Japanese
FWD must be the answer
Aries K

It was boxy and obnoxious
Low hp, 0-60 in 16
Nothing fancy in the interior
Aries K

Aries K, Aries K, Aries K, Aries K
Sold 300,000
Aries K

Overheating, gaskets failing
Some poor handling, all agree
Still, it was the answer
To the V(W)

When production started
In the US there was a need
There came an answer
Just ask Lee*

(Chorus) [x3]

Yes, it may have been shoddy
Not exactly sporty with luxury
But it pointed to tomorrow
FWD eventually

Most consider it Kraptastic
Remember it on the street
A car of the '80s
Aries K

(Chorus) [x3]
* Lee Iacocca of Chrysler (which sold one of the four K-car models, the LeBaron)

My Dad had a small Plymouth that was a real pain to find parts for. I think they used three different starters that year and you had to know the serial number to match anything.
