The Lyrics

Hmm... wonder if Porfle will get a kick out of this one???
Now for a Hong Kong lunchtime
Oh how I love Chinese food
Plate #2

Long lines for Hong Kong lunchtime
So many items on menu
Chose #2

How my stomach is growling
So good I don‘t mind waiting, To Go

Secret meat in food tastes good
So exotic I can’t place you
Never waste you
How I love you
Anyone seen my Shih Tzu???
What’s Xiāng Ròu???

Oh No!!!
Shih Tzu is a dog breed. Xiāng Ròu ("Fragrant Meat") is Hong Kong dog meat!

Not only did I get a kick out of it, but now I'm starving for some Chinese food! I used to know a couple from Hong Kong who owned a restaurant, but it was a Mexican restaurant. They did Chinese food if you called in advance, though. I had my college graduation dinner there.

I eat Chinese every Monday when I can and order a #5 Cashew Chicken plate that comes with chow mein, pork fried rice, egg roll w/sweet & sour, and wonton soup for $5. But I love Mexican too and am sad that I haven't made my 9-layer dip in ages (too expensive). Unlike others that throw everything together in a huge bowl, my mom taught me to build my dip in layers on a cake platter and then use a spat to trim off the excess. I put it in the fridge for a couple of hours to thicken and you can actually slice sections like a pie to put on a plate with the chips. That way everyone has their own plate instead of sharing the bowl. YES, I cook and have my own recipe file system!!!

Thanks Peregrin. This came about randomly. Sometimes I just pick songs and write from the top of my head whatever comes to mind!
