The Lyrics

The Liberal Media is at it again, attacking Mitt for his legitimate concerns over the safety of the Olympic Games in the UK and condemning his defense of Israel to exist with its capital of Jerusalem. The UK was offended even with their poor choice of a troubled, incompetent Security Company and had to use another 4000 troops as back-up (in addition to the 18,000 deployed)! So Piers Morgan's comments are rubbish. Then in Israel Mitt stood up for the defense of Israel as a strategic Ally and that Jerusalem was its capital. So the Palis got upset... these are the same terrorists that want the Jews driven into the sea and to take Jerusalem by force of which they have no historical claim at all (Al Quds my ass, David conquered the city and made it the Israelite Kingdom's capital at a time when the Philistines of old wanted to take all the land but never held more than 5 coastal cities). All this undue attention on Mitt instead of on Obama's multitude of failed polices at home which count at the ballot box in November.
Mitt Romney, all this trouble while he’s away
Media twisting words that he did say
They keep changing from day-to-day

Suddenly, focused on Mitt’s talks overseas
First, troubled UK security
So bad that Brits added military
(4000 troop contingency)

Piers Morgan interview, oh the games he does play
Mitt was right to criticize that bad company

Mitt Romney, vowed to support the Israelis
Which upset the terrorist Palis
Capital- Jerusalem- always!

It’s so hard these days to keep the lousy Press away
Liberal media tries to lead us all astray

Mitt Romney, he’s confident of a better way
Looking forward to a brand new day
Oh, I believe in Mitt Romney

For President of the U.S.A.

RDA: Makes its point very well, but somewhat erratic pacing in many lines.

Yesterday, we saw Mitt Romney standing on a lawn next to a sign that explicitly told him to STAY OFF THE GRASS! How can you vote for a guy like that?

Bill Clinton would've stood on it and then smoked it! Nice parody.

Although in the parody I endorse Romney, this is the first election in my life where I am not happy with my REP candidate. I would never vote for Obama, but am pissed that as partyline voter that I HAVE to vote for Mitt. Am nervous over his running mate choice too and how he could blow it in Nov even with a horrible economy :(

My sentiments too, Rob. Mitt wasn't my first (or second, or third...) choice. America is in decline and Mitt might apply a slight tapping of the brakes, but it is better than Obama's pedal to the metal attitude.

Robert - you write really decent stuff and I'd like to see it even better, so hope you won't take offense at some friendly constructive criticism on your pacing. IE: Line one and line four, the part after the comma in the OS has 9 syllables, your parody has 8 in each. An easy fix for both would be to add a filler word:

"All this trouble NOW while he's away"

"Focused on Mitt's talks WHILE overseas"

Syllables are your friends - always count 'em. ;)
