Song Parodies -> "Lifebuoy"

Original Song Title:

"This Boy"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

This boy
Wishes something pure
Could be the new soap du jour
But Lifebuoy's in his mouth to stay

Isn't good for you
And it tastes awful too
Lifebuoy washes swears away

Oh, and this boy said the "F" word
But that "F" word wasn't "fudge"
Lifebuoy kills the cuss word
With its toxic sluh-huh-huh-hudge

This boy wishes he'd go blind
His grieving folks would find
That Lifebuoy poisoned him today

I've never heard of Lifebuoy soap...but this made me smile. Love the OS, and this was just fun! :)

Lifebuoy had carbolic acid in it. I remember it well. Dad used to have his own Old Spice bar soap!!! 555!!!

Thanks guys! Arwen, Lifebuoy is the soap Ralphie had to put in his mouth in "A Christmas Story." Rob, we gave Old Spice to Dad every Christmas when I was a kid.

Heh...the first thing I thought of was a Christmas Story. Horrible thing to do to a tongue (but better than the flag pole

Lifebuoy always did have a chemical smell, unlike Ivory or Lux. The kid with his tongue stuck to the flagpole ended up doing porno!

My dad used Lifebuoy, and I got my mouth washed out with it (and with Lava at least once) numerous times. Still can't forget that taste. Rob, isn't carbolic acid the same thing as phenol? No wonder Lifebuoy was banned in the US. Good work...
