Lifebuoy had carbolic acid in it. I remember it well. Dad used to have his own Old Spice bar soap!!! 555!!!

Thanks guys! Arwen, Lifebuoy is the soap Ralphie had to put in his mouth in "A Christmas Story." Rob, we gave Old Spice to Dad every Christmas when I was a kid.

Lifebuoy always did have a chemical smell, unlike Ivory or Lux. The kid with his tongue stuck to the flagpole ended up doing porno!

My dad used Lifebuoy, and I got my mouth washed out with it (and with Lava at least once) numerous times. Still can't forget that taste. Rob, isn't carbolic acid the same thing as phenol? No wonder Lifebuoy was banned in the US. Good work...
