The Lyrics

Ah, Ron Paul- the quiet Libertarian/REP running on a platform of lowering the national debt through Minimalist Government Semi-Isolationism! Gotta love the way he states his Constitutional views over all the mud-slinging accusations of the other three REP candidates. Amazingly, he continues in a solid 3rd place standing and is counting on making progress with Super Tuesday (446 delegates at stake). It's his foreign policy views that IMO are keeping him down; specifically, all talk of not helping Israel attack Iran and the idea that the US should pull troops out of all foreign lands and come home. US military strategy that has worked for 6 decades after WW2 is forward deployment of men and material so that the US can send power anywhere immediately w/o delay. The USN would not be affected, but pulling out troops completely from Europe, S Korea, and Japan would be a grave mistake. It would possibly allow N Korea to invade the South and China to take Taiwan easily (too many Dragons in a volatile region). It would also embolden the Arab and Persian ME to attack Israel and maybe give Turkey the greenlight to take Kurdish N Iraq and the oil fields there. Not wise. The days of isolationism were over with the Third Reich and Japanese Empire. Other than those things, Ron Paul makes a lot of common sense when it comes to Govt. overspending and the Federal Govt. actively involved in too much of American life, denying liberties. He is, IMHO, the only REP candidate with a conscience and firm conviction that what he proposes is the right direction for an America that faces financial collapse this decade.
