The Lyrics

Nelvana of the Northern Lights was Canada's first female and national superhero in 1941 right out of Triumph Action Comics. She predated both Johnny Canuck and Wonder Woman! Her father was the Inuit God Koliak the Mighty who took a human female as wife and produced children. Banished by the Gods, his form was taken and he became only visible as the Aurora Borealis. His daughter Nelvana is a Demi-Goddess that comes to the aid of Canada during WW2 when the Japanese and Nazis arrive to cause trouble. Her powers are far-ranging and are derived from her father. She can fly and reach the speed of light, turn invisible and change form, communicate telepathically, and use the rays of the Aurora to burn things and disrupt communications. Her brother Tanero cannot be seen to Whites, so he is invisible most of the time. Only Nelvana's cloak can render him visible to her and her people. As Alana North she fights against all enemies of Canada and is a lesser-known female superhero. Her comics ran from 1941-47. The Canadians honored her in modern times with a postage stamp, and her most modern costume is in the Canadian colors of red and white with blue of the Inuit.
Northern lights
Goddess fights

Nazi might
Jap bomb fright

She can't die
But can fly
Neutralize
And deny

Alana North- the spy
