Song Parodies -> B-A-R, A-C-K, O-B-A, MA!

Original Song Title:

"Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"B-A-R, A-C-K, O-B-A, MA!"

Parody Written by:

Johnny D

Politics' a narrow-minded marketplace
"Golly!" said the Palin-flash-in-pan
Nation said to Senator McCain, "No way's
the country gonna let you be our leader man!"

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

Politics' a motley crew of ghoulish gourds
Flies-a-plenty land on what they bring
Fakes attract a following of foolish hordes
But now our nation's settled on the realest thing

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

In a couple of years,
he'll undo what Dubya's done

With a couple of terms in the job that was
Abe Lincoln's and Wash-ing-ton's

History's a-makin' in United States
Hope's a-risin' clear across the land

Play-in' "Hail-To-The-Chief" at the White House gates
is our traditional U.S. Marine Corps band

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

In a couple of years,
he'll undo what Dubya's done

With a couple of terms in the job that was
John Adams' and Jef-fer-son's

History's a-makin' in United States
Hope's a-risin' clear across the land

Voters chose the one with Presidential traits
And now a cheering nation gives the man a hand

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

B-A-R,
A-C-K,
O-B-A,
MA!

President-elect Barack!

And now the voting's done --

Hail
To
The
Chief
Barack!

I like the flies-a-plenty line and I, too, hope that the Obama administration is able to undo the Bush prescription drug bill and the Bush $700 billion financial industry bail out.

Thank you, John.

I want you to know, Johnny, that I needed a hip, political song to perform at my usual opn mic, so I naturally turned to you. I wrote down the words to this so I could perform it last night. Alas, I gave my spot to an attractive young? lady who missed the spot selection. But there's always next week.

Thank you, Highlander & Pippin. Rick -- I'd love to hear a recording (any quality) of you performing this parody at an open mic!!

Thanks, Stu! Hey, maybe you can organize another collaborative G&S parody epic?

yes, the Lewd Submitters might be down but any cinema-going fan of Harrison Ford knows they'll most surely rise again - btw, I meant to also congratulate you in retrospect for being the first to nail the Copacabana/Barack Obama sub from years ago. That was the first time I was allerted to the existence of His Holiness, so he will always be linked to you in my mind - hope he delivers, for your sake mate! :-)
