Song Parodies -> "Paul Is Dead"

Original Song Title:

"Yesterday"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Paul Is Dead"

Parody Written by:

Itai Gal

The Lyrics

Referecing to the Paul Is Dead hoax.
Paul is dead,
He was killed in a car accident,
And he really f**king lost his head,
Oh, I believe that Paul is dead.

Suddenly,
He's not half the man he used to be,
He looks different but sounds normally,
Oh, yes, Paul did die suddenly.

Why he
had to die, and why won't Lennon say?
I played
Something wrong, and I heard that Paul Is Dead.
Paul Is Dead,
Being alone is not so easy now,
I can see his ghost in everywhere,
Oh, I'm so scared of Paul Is Dead.

Why I
Had to hear I'm so tired backwards then
I played
that song wrong and I heard "Paul is dead, man".

Paul is Dead
Song was such an easy thing to play,
Playing backwards in another way,
Oh, I believe in Paul is Dead.
Hmm mmm mmm, hmm mmm mmm mmm...

Good idea doing a Beatles song to this rumor. The rhyming could have used some more work after the second verse, but there were some clever reversals of the original lines. Welcome to the site. 444

Clever flip of a mind numbing publicity stunt that I remember well when it actually happened. People went nuts about this and even nearly 40 years later it is still a fresh idea. Ant is being honest with his vote but I'm going to vote you fives because you wrote and I like the idea and I'd like to see you stick around and write more parody. Good ideas are more than half the parody battle won. Working on your cleverness and word smithing does the rest.

This was a 454, pacing and rhyme scheme flubs in both bridges. But I liked your choice of song to the topic.

Rhyming was slightly off, but the juxtaposition of this famous rumor to a Beatles song is pure brilliance!
