Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"We Can Duke It Out"

Parody Written by:

Lionel Mertens

Verse #1

Try to stop this tempest
Do we have to blow hard SHOUTING ‘fore the gloves come off
While we’ve reached an impasse
It could come to blows exchanging words when we’re so wroth

Chorus:
We can duke it out
We can duke it out

Verse #2

Bet we sound like children
We could tell our moms and have them talk it over tea
We deserve a whippin’
We could cut a switch and then have dad tan our heinies

Or….

Chorus:
We can duke it out
We can duke it out

Bridge:
Heads are very hard, and there’s no use
In bashing and bruising our brains
We both never thought to change our views
Still we can “throw down” all the same

Try to get in my face
Only one way to know who’ll go down and who’ll stay up
As things deescalate
There’s a chance that we’ll become best of friends and make up

Chorus:
We can duke it out
We can duke it out

Bridge:
Violence doesn’t help when there’s no end
To scuffling and scourging and scorn
And what may have been good intentions
Has turned into a raging storm

Verse #4
Put your face in my fist
It don’t matter none if it’s the right or it’s the left
While I’m no pugilist
There’s a chance that we might go some rounds without a ref

Chorus:
We can duke it out
We can duke it out

There appears to be Quarreling & Dukeing tately . . . I feel that this only adds gas to the flame . . . I abhor confrontations of anger. It really eats away at one's inner self.
