The Lyrics

stranded in our house when it happened
swirlin' wind gusts knocked us askance
alas and alack
we might not ever get back
that ol' tornado never gave us a chance

christ, you know it ain't easy
this journey's hard as can be
the way the things are goin'
these winds are gonna kill me

hopin' mother nature would spare us
crashed into a witch when we came
another witch came to say
"it is upon you, i'll prey"
and then she cackled like a woman, insane

christ, you know it ain't easy
this journey's hard as can be
the way the things are goin'
that witch is gonna find me

met a trio, as the road, we were hittin'
scarecrow, tin man, lion, so meek
one creature felt dread
one needed brains in his head
the other needed both a heart and some grease

christ, you know it ain't easy
this journey's hard as can be
the way the things are goin'
that witch is gonna find me

off to see the wizard on that zany day
needin' us a dose of charity
cruelly, the witch said
"soon, you'll be stone dead
and with those ruby shoes, i'll gain control
dig ?"

wizard just ignored our dilemma
savin' people wasn't his bag
but after we pled
here's what the man said
"you bring me back the broom of that hag"

christ, you know it ain't easy
this journey's hard as can be
the way the things are goin'
that witch is gonna find me

to kill the witch, did not take much cunning
a pail of water, our lone attack
a wail of distress
a big melty mess
we grabbed her broom and headed on back

christ, it sure ended easy
we thought so hard it would be
just water, a-throwin'
done in by little ol' me

Absolutely Magical---dannit I need to stop the pun stuff. "These winds are gonna kill me" was cute , but "you bring me back the broom of that hag" was the one that really clinched this parody for me.

Fantastic! "and with those ruby shoes, i'll gain control, dig?" was my favorite line.

No need to see the Wizard, you've clearly got a brain. I loved the "dig" line, too, and also substituting "dilemma" for "Vienna." This was a Hollywood-style blockbuster.

Somewhere over AmIRight, you get 555. I know, that could use some improvement.

I liked The Wiz where the witch ran a sweat shop and was flushed down the toilet.
