The Lyrics

If you all hate me for being so shameless in my plea, I understand, but I'm desperate!
Help! I am out of ideas!
Help! I need inspiration
Help! If you all have some thoughts, help!

It was several months ago when my first parody spawned
Now all of my new ideas just simply make me yawn
They're either really dumb or else they just don't work
Even if I want to call our president a jerk!

If you have ideas, leave them below!
If I use your thought, I'll let you know!
Sorry about the short notice, oo
Thank you!

Now you would that parodies would be my cup of tea
I am not a real creative person ,you will see
After all, it's easier to write words to an older score
But even doing that ain't easy anymore!

If you have ideas, leave them below!
If I use your thought, I'll let you know!
Sorry about the short notice, oo
Thank you!

It was several months ago when my first parody spawned
Now all of my new ideas just simply make me yawn
They're either really dumb or else they just don't work
Even if I want to call our president a jerk!

If you have ideas, leave them below
If I get to look at them, you'll know
Thank you all for being helpful, ooo
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Kat, I don't know this song by heart and at the moment my sister has my Beatles #1 so I can't rate it. Ideas can be hard to come by, especially with some of the older tunes that have been parodied quite a bit; I have scrapped countless ideas because they have been done before. What has helped me is having more parody fodder, I meant original songs in my collection that I can work with. Listening to more types/genres of music has helped quite a bit as well. I get some of my ideas from others' parodies and comments, some from news sources- here's an idea if you want; Take "The Sounds of Silence" and make "The Grounds Defiance" about the earthquake that just hit Pakistan; that is one I won't be making and downloaded lyrics are accurate if you DKTOS.

Also, not sure how you or anyone else makes parodies, but I don't always start from the beginning; many times it is a working chorus or even a single word that I build a parody from. Hope that helps some.

Most of my parody songs come straight from making a funny, original title and nothing else. So, occasionally, it gets a bit tricky :D

Red Ant, like the idea, but i have no idea what "Grounds of Silence" is.

Kat, the song is "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel. It isn't an easy song to parody though. If you decide to tackle it, use the version with 5 verses, the first release of the song had 4 plus a bunch of hmms at the end.

If you say so, I still have no idea what you're talking about.

How bout a Steppenwolf parody, "Born To Eat Pie"? Just a thought.

I'll try it, if I can find all the lyrics for the original song.
