Song Parodies -> Randolph Scott
| Original Song Title: | "Delta Dawn" |
| Original Performer: | Tanya Tucker |
| Parody Song Title: | "Randolph Scott" |
| Parody Written by: | Airfarcewon |
Randolph Scott, he made westerns, loved a lot
Blessed with lay back style like Gary Cooper had
Cleaned up those outlaw gangs,
And was a marksman with six-gun bangs,
Made 'em wish that they were good,
When they were bad..
Hard to believe he played leading man roles, romantic
Black and white, had gal fans goin' frantic
Even starred in an old dance film with Fred Astaire
Blue eyes, manly good looks, plenty charm to spare
In the early years, got signed by Howard Hughes
Just a bit player, but soon made movie news
In a while, C. B. Demille was by his side
Played in "The Virginian"..learned to ride
Randolph Scott loved his horse, rarely got shot
If he did, was just an arm or shoulder wound
A tough leathery face..with a believable cowboy grace
His southern accent seemed so finely tuned..
Randolph Scott, fit into that cowboy slot
Classic films from "Fifties" "Sixties"..days gone by
Old Randolph had a way
Of entertainin' us any day
Ridin' thru western scenes beneath blue sky..
Ridin' thru western scenes beneath blue sky..

Classic actor. Great tribute..
subject matter worked well with the tone of the OS....and congrats on passing me up parody count-wise...you are indeed a hard worker in amusing us with your talents
Thanks, Mark, and alvin...about passing you...I never even noticed...not my goal, really...just probably have more free time that you do...since I'm retired..except for some part time appliance work...and no-one will pass your ability to come up with excellent and interesting parodies..
Hay for my men and wine for my horse...Nice job on this...555!!!
0h, Sir ~L'Air de Frigedaire ~ this is very nice . . 0h so very nice, Cowboy !
Thanks, Leo, and LCC....
Randolph Scott and the era of cowboy movies might be history, but this parody does a good job of making them come alive.
Great job here AFW, and I too am working on a "Delta Dawn" parody. It is titled "Dacron John" and is going to be about an insane lawyer who wears Dacron suits. The trouble is, I can't find a set of "Delta Dawn" lyrics that will copy and paste into Microsoft Word properly. 5s for you, and I see that you do appliance work in addition to retirement, comedy writing (as on HMO) and parodies. I have a refrigerator in my garage that leaks Freon, but you are in Ohio and I am in Oregon, so I guess I'll have to find someone else to fix it... ; - )
Thanks, John...and thanks, Andria.."Dacron John"...good...I did another, sometime back to this song, called, "Teflon John" about John Gotti
A blast from days of old when cowboys were straight.
Thanks, 2Eag...hmm, but were they...while doing research for one of my past parodies...the page said Clark Gable was gay..NOW..THAT"S hard to believe...
Please, Sir L'Air de Farce, Dear Mr Gable was only named "Gay" in the movie the MISFITs, Sir ,
LCC..Yeah, I remember that from his last film...but, no this was on a website that listed all stars who were gay in Hollywood....Of course, I don't believe it, either.
^ I'm glad we are 'on the same page', Sir L'Air !
