Original Song Title:

"I Am A Rock"

Original Performer:

Simon & Garfunkel

Parody Song Title:

"Weekly World News"

Parody Written by:

Freddy Flame

If you are unfamiliar with the title, the Weekly World News is a tabloid magazine that features such articles as "Saddam and Osama: Gay Lovers" and the ongoing saga of Bat Boy (sorry, but I couldn't find a place from him in this parody) The last line can apply to pretty much any tabloid.
On winter days,
And on through to late November,
Come the saucers.
They're abducting people from the streets and roads.
They're also snatching cows and snakes and toads.

CHORUS:
Read it all in
The Weekly World News.

Down in D.C.,
The President has been cloned,
By the Screen Actor's Guild.
This can tell your future by eating your hair.
The devil really is in Linda Blair.

CHORUS

And in Texas,
The cows have taken over.
They're in this with the NRA.
Scientists have developed a time machine, you know?
We may have no proof, but we know that it's so.

CHORUS

Elvis ain't dead.
He's living in LA with Hendrix.
We've got blurry pics to proove it.
Cheney comes from Mars. Living, breathing cars.
All this in our next issue coming soon.

CHORUS

Where the truth has no place,
And exaggeration rules.

This was really funny, Freddy - and quite true as well. As far as pace this was very good in most places - the syllable counts seem to match fine, but the word sounds don't quite in some spots (which some reader's consider fine - I'm more picky). And I suggest actually showing the repetitive chorus lyrics, and, if possible, varying them while still keeping your story-line intact. Yeah, picky...Anyway, good job - I gave you "4-5-5" and maybe that "4" is being too critical, but with a couple extra touches this would be super.

Jack and Marilyn Kennedy both liked this. Jim Morrison hasn't made up his mind yet. He's still trying to figure out whether he should steal Bill Clinton's new girlfriend... or Hillary's. Five Cher-slaps and "Snap out of it!"
