| Parody Song Title: | "Will They Still Bug Me Tomorrow?" |
| Parody Written by: | Scathe |
Ah yes, the election is drawing ever nearer to a conclusion and I'm ready for a break from this barrage. But will it really be a break?
Election day has killed all the fun.
I can't wait until it's all done.
Campaigns...might still...be lurking the next day.
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
I've ducked the ballot for so long.
But the last count was prolonged.
Will they...repeat...a "Florida faux pas"?
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
The impartials have roughed it.
Telling campaigners to shove it.
But left...and right...don't know when to give up.
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
I fear...the signs...of political jet lag.
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
I can't wait until it's all done.
Campaigns...might still...be lurking the next day.
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
I've ducked the ballot for so long.
But the last count was prolonged.
Will they...repeat...a "Florida faux pas"?
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
The impartials have roughed it.
Telling campaigners to shove it.
But left...and right...don't know when to give up.
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
I fear...the signs...of political jet lag.
Will they still bug me tomorrow?
Will they still bug me tomorrow?

Well-rhymed and well-paced; the message was right on target too. 5-5-5.
I saw the title and though the song was going to be about Nazshcroft.
Thanks Ingeborg, I was more careful with this one. John Barry, what is Nazshcroft?
My guess is that JB is making a politico-neo-logism out of a combination of "Nazi" and "Ashcroft".
Nice work, Scathe. I sure hope this year we don't have to go through what we went through four years ago (with the Florida nonsense); that was ridiculous. Anyway, this parody was well-paced and well-written, and I agree with Ingeborg about the message being on target. So I'm giving it a 5-5-5. :)
Thanks Johnny D, I think I need to learn more about this Ashcroft fellow. Thanks Serafina, I hope to write more in the future, non-political even.
(ABC) Good one 5's
Short n' sweet, unlike certain campaign speeches.
We tell the pollsters that call we're voting for whoever calls us the least.
(ABC-W) Wish I'd have voted on this one when I was at the polls. Well here's some absentee late voting. Have some 5s.
(ABC) Good stuff.
(ABC) See above, still sharp and witty as ever.
ABC--well, this is one way to force me into reading a political parody! ; ) I'm glad you did, though...this was great!
Not bad! Though I was thinking it would have something to do with telemarketers... nonetheless, 5'd.
(ABC) Hmmm... I thought it was gonna be about mosquitos. Not bad tho'! ;-)
Hey, I liked this!
Well done.
Well done!
Lovely, Scathe :-)
(ABC W) Scathe, now that we are past that nerve & common-sense rattling election I can look at this without dread...I was really burned out on political stuff by Nov. 2 this year, even my own stuff...5's...very fine job...
