The Lyrics

Andy the sheriff is always so ashamed
His son had red hair and he is nicknamed
Dopey Opie Dopey Opie
Dopey Opie Dopey Opie Dopey Opie
(watch it now watch it now watch it now)

He used a slingshot To kill a mother bird
Andy did warn him But it went unheard
Dopey Opie Dopey Opie
Dopey Opie Dopey Opie Dopey Opie
(watch it now watch it now watch it now)

His own newspaper was a critical bust
He could not say that the preacher's dry as dust
Dopey Opie Dopey Opie
Dopey Opie Dopey Opie Dopey Opie

I liked this a lot, but I wanted about ten more verses. I would wrap it up with: "Since 'Graffiti'/He just grew and grew/Became a director/Won an Oscar, too, Dopie Opie," etc. Maybe something about Happy Days? How about: "Used to be so nerdy/In those Happy Days/Now when he goes dining/Henry Winkler pays Dopie Opie....?" No? Anybody? d;:^)

When Ron Howard left Happy Days, he told them to eat his dust and sit on it.
