Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

nailed up till i was spent
doomed..to the full extent
been stoned...by fools...you bet
they ain't got no etiquette
ah, but...two days and my life resumes
yes, i'll...be delivered from the tomb
i'm a...man demeaned, it sure seems
king of the jews

third crossbar...how i strain
destination...heaven's reign
old worn out loincloth blues
for man's sins i've paid my dues
i will...find glory where i'm bound
earth...no place to hang around
i'm a...man who's deemed, by all means
king of the jews

i know every person here that caused me some pain
when i talk to daddy...i'm namin' some names
better watch out...all you jerks in this town
i'm takin' stock..of who's mocked...and slapped me around

i sing...you'll know where i have went
zoomed to the big ascent
big throne...how cool....you bet
i ain't due to come back yet
ah, but...whenever my reign resumes
there's a...few, who's gonna meet their doom
i'm a...man who's seen what faith means
king of the jews

Alvin - certainly a more laid back verbal style for THIS version of the Savior. 5's.

Alvin-This is really different; only thing I have to say is He's reigning now, at the right hand of his father.

Brilliant work,Alvin; I'll email Mel a copy. One comment though- "where I have went"...????? That's some interesting grammar there, matey

Ah, a fellow lightning rod! Great job. I particularly like the irony of earth being no place to 'hang' around.

Alvin, if you're gonna go THERE, it better be funny. This wasn't. Case in point: Denis Leary: "I'm gonna go to hell for this, but I don't care. It's a good thing Jesus didn't live to be 40. He'd-a been like Elvis, with sideburns and a beer gut, with the Disciples as his Memphis Mafia, goin', 'Damn! I'm the Son of God! Somebody get me a cheeseburger!' And Peter would say, 'But, Lord, you're fat!' And Jesus would say, 'Shut up, Pete, or I'll turn you into a pillar of salt!'" Edgy? Sure. Testing the bounds of good taste. Oh yeah. Funny? Definitely. Was this one funny? Not even close. Did it at least make its point? No better than a dozen others.

Hey, Alvin - don't let it get to you if anybody gets so easily offended as to be worked up by this one: personally I reckon there should be lots more like this around... I intend to learn about more of the world's religions, so I can take the piss out of them, too ;-)
