Song Parodies -> Good Old Wisconsin Dells

Original Song Title:

"Armstrong"

Original Performer:

Reg Lindsay

Parody Song Title:

"Good Old Wisconsin Dells"

Parody Written by:

Kahuna Accidentale of the Dells

The song under parody was originally written in tribute to Neil Armstrong's landing upon the Moon "on that July afternoon" of 21 July 1969, and became a hit on the Australian charts. Note in the first verse allusion to a pun as was originally circulated in "Capt. Billy's Whiz Bang," if anybody asks.
It's getting hot with this summer,
And the a/c's on the fritz;
Last night, I slept in boudoir,
Boudoir shall I sleep tonight?
But then again, it's nothing
'Cause it's that time again
That we're returning back to
Good old Wisconsin Dells....

There's a summer place we have there,
Up where the pines begin
(Or so the slogan hath it),
We've had it for some time--
And it's our summer rendezvous
For G-d knows just how long--
Our summer rendezvous in
Good old Wisconsin Dells.... (x2)

We have some decent beach space
Upon Lake Delton's shore,
Quite the place to cool off
In case the days get hot,
Not to mention those evenings
Of a Wisconsin summertime
At our summer place in
Good old Wisconsin Dells.... (x2)

Hopefully, you can join us
Some muggy summer's eve
At our summer rendezvous in
Good old Wisconsin Dells.... (x2)
In answer to questions raised in a previous parody in this vein, these are just a hobby with moi. I am not under anyone's pay to promote Wisconsin Dells; rather, I happen to be fond of the place, and find it worthy of musical parody tribute. Meanwhile, feel free to check out my tribute site (and then some) to the place....
