It appears that the 2008 Democratic presidential nominee will be determined by super delegates, not by the primaries. This likelihood has the candidates and their supporters working overtime to make each super delegate feel special.
Super delegates are getting wooed until they’re nauseous;
When candidates approach them, their attitude is cautious;
If the bull dung gets too deep, they put on their galoshes;
Super delegates are getting wooed until they’re nauseous.
If Obama faces trauma, will he plagiarize?
If Obama faces trauma, will he plagiarize?
The Democrats have quite a choice
In this year’s long campaign.
Which candidate will be their voice
And vanquish John McCain?
The race to be the nominee
Will not be over soon.
But will Barack or Hillary
Be singing this sad tune:
Super delegates got wooed until they could not stand me;
I thought that if I schmoozed enough, they would all demand me.
Now I’m hoping for VP, that melancholy “Plan B;”
Super delegates got wooed until they could not stand me.
If Hillary’s second fiddle, is she gonna cry?
If Hillary’s second fiddle, is she gonna cry?
Eight hundred super delegates
Will decide the winner,
So candidates and surrogates
Coax them all at dinner.
The delegates get wined and dined
By Chelsea and by Ted.
But someday they’ll make up their mind
And pick Al Gore instead.
Super delegates are getting wooed until they’re nauseous;
When candidates approach them, their attitude is cautious;
If the bull dung gets too deep, they put on their galoshes;
Super delegates are getting wooed until they’re nauseous.
When candidates approach them, their attitude is cautious;

Great, John, and dead on. And I'd love to see the delegates - be they elected, caucus-selected, or "super" -- indeed pick Al Gore instead.
Great job indeed. It's still the smoke-filled back room, minus the smoke. . .of cigars. And they're still blowing it up our a**es.
John - This is instant classic stuff here and so spot on. What I don't get is all the sidebar comments that both Dem candidates are firing at Bush. If they are going to go on an attack of the GOP should they not have McCain in their sites? Another interesting thing I was told about Obama by a very wise old guy who lost his hearing on Utah beach on June 6, 1944 by having his head too close to a mortar round he blew off and went all the way to Berlin nearly deaf, who by the way is still working for the US Army at 84 years young, says that he remembers Hitler's speaches in the 1930's and he says that Obama when he speaks reminds him of Hitler. And no he is not senile, he is as sharp as a tack and can run 10 miles without breaking a sweat. His name is Frred Chapal and he has the wisdom of a lifetime of living experience to back up what he says. Makes me wonder about the big O. Great parody. I applaud your tactics.
politics made fun..love it !
Great job with this political spoof parody
Great write here. You have to admit, this is an interesting election year.
John Jenkins - wonderful and very fun parody, thanks for that! (Also, a funny one for both sides of the fence to enjoy - luv it!)
Guy, I think they are bashing bush a lot because it is a faddish thing to do! You know, suck upt to as many far left as possible and say, "look how great I am compared to him" - Obama, who runs around telling everyone, (and having everyone believe him because they don't really check facts but rather judge on their emotional impact), that he was "against the war from the start" - which is not true! Not only are there several newspaper, interviews / public quotes that say he in fact did support the war - but he also is on record for supporting bush the first few years, (as hillary did and w/votes, for a much longer time!) but any anti-bush means they look better, (anti-mccain at this point, him being such a big hero, may not be the best general audience move! Obama says he wants a clean campaign and so does McCain - which is really great & will be refreshing! If Hillary wins primary, all bets are off for a clean one!
Again, John, fun parody!
