Song Parodies -> Lightning Strikin' My Chin
| Original Song Title: | "Lightnin' Strikes" |
| Original Performer: | Lou Christie |
| Parody Song Title: | "Lightning Strikin' My Chin" |
| Parody Written by: | Alvin Rhodes |
listen to me, baby...the pain is hard to stand
its bold enough to throw and shake a full grown man
listen to me, baby...my beard was singed on down
so i ask you, don't touch...its sensitive, i've found
i enjoyed nature's world
i was buzzed...and a shock was sent
crazy and confused
i'm abused...and down for ten
when that bolt hit...baby, i had fits (pop)
eyes went pop (pop)
eyes went pop cause its...
lightning strikin' my chin
lightning strikin' my chin
nature's bakin' over my poor whacked mind
synapses are shot..it stopped my heart for a time
dimness, i'm displayin'...i might end up a fool
for the time being, baby, i merely drool
when i hit the ground
i was quite hazy in my mind
i seem to forget
what a shake-up...it hurt this time
first the weather was sublime
but it worsened in time (pop)
eyes went pop (pop)
eyes went pop cause its...
lightning strikin' my chin
lightning strikin' my chin
it went zappin' down my spine
with a force...that knew no end
splinters in my mind
lost forever?...will i mend ?
mighta damaged my spine
or just messed up my mind (pop)
eyes went pop (pop)
eyes went pop cause its...
lightning strikin' my chin
lightning strikin' my chin
once again and again and again
its bold enough to throw and shake a full grown man
listen to me, baby...my beard was singed on down
so i ask you, don't touch...its sensitive, i've found
i enjoyed nature's world
i was buzzed...and a shock was sent
crazy and confused
i'm abused...and down for ten
when that bolt hit...baby, i had fits (pop)
eyes went pop (pop)
eyes went pop cause its...
lightning strikin' my chin
lightning strikin' my chin
nature's bakin' over my poor whacked mind
synapses are shot..it stopped my heart for a time
dimness, i'm displayin'...i might end up a fool
for the time being, baby, i merely drool
when i hit the ground
i was quite hazy in my mind
i seem to forget

lost forever?...will i mend ?
mighta damaged my spine
or just messed up my mind (pop)
eyes went pop (pop)
eyes went pop cause its...
lightning strikin' my chin
lightning strikin' my chin
once again and again and again

LOL "Lou"... love OS. "Nature's bakin'..." etc. whole line is great. 5 bolts, and more Lou Chrisite parodies, please! (How about "Rhapsody in the Rain"? Brings back backseat memories...)
p.s. XM 60's just played OS; was able to pull this back up - fun sing-along, esp. "zappin" verse.
DKOS, but a shocking and well written works..5's
How about -- hey, it's only a suggestion, ok? -- "Parody On The Brain"???
I used to listen to this guy on the radio, and once he said that he had been hit by lightning three times. That became the topic of the night, with callers calling in inbetween songs, talking about that and their experiences with being hit by lightning. It was funny. And this was too. 5's
thanks tommy AFW YKW and larry
