Phil Alexander, thank you for giving me the inspiration for this parody in this comment you posted on the messageboard: http://www.inthe00s.com/index.php/topic,2756.msg96279.html#msg96279
Come shoot a barracuda
Trapped in a rhyme!
Come shoot a barracuda
Trapped in a rhyme!

ParodyingThisSong'sLikeShoot-ingFishInABarrel
Any half-wit with a brain that's warm can write a carol
Lam-pooning this stupid song with fourteen syllabarrells
ParodyingThisSong'sLikeShoot-ingFishInABarrel

Come shoot a barracuda
Trapped in a rhyme!
Come shoot a barracuda
Trapped in a rhyme!

Disney must've swallowed
Several hits of LSD

When he gave the okay for this insipid melody

If only dear old Walter
Knew that one day it would be

The sacrificial lamb of endless stupid parodies!

WHOAH!

ParodyingThisSong'sLikeShoot-ingFishInABarrel
Any half-wit with a brain that's warm can write a carol
Stupider than every movie made by William Ferrell
ParodyingThisSong'sLikeShoot-ingFishInABarrel

Come shoot a barracuda
Trapped in a rhyme!
Come shoot a barracuda
Trapped in a rhyme!

So if you're stuck
And out of luck
When it comes to ideas

For something new to parody, just swallow twenty beers

And then boot up your PC
Grab your mouse
And you might write

The eighty-seven-millionth parody of this trite shite!

WHOAH!

ParodyingThisSong'sLikeShoot-ingFishInABarrel
Students bang 'em out in their col-lege library carrels
Kitty-cats compose 'em coughing furballs if they're feral

They're probably people that just finished their parody of this song and now feel stupid submitting it. But I no longer feel bad that I've never done it! (Ok, I really didn't feel that bad...)

Good one, JD.

I agree with alvin and AKA, Johnny. Somebody is just jealous. This is great, as usual. High 5's
Johnny D - August 24, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks Alvin, and thanks, Ashkicksass. I'm the stupidest "half-wit with a brain that's warm" at the moment, folks --- because I wrote & posted this-most-stupid-of-all-"Supercal"-parodies! Does anybody DARE to claim that THEY have posted one that's STUPIDER than this one? HA! I thought not! ;-D
John Barry - August 24, 2004 - Report this comment
Great comment on one that's been done to death (I've submitted 2 myself).

Thank you, Dee, and thank you, JB.

Good one, Johnny 5's and that was good advise;

So if you're stuck
And out of luck
When it comes to ideas

I'll remember that. :D

I've never been able to get one to work with "Super..." and I'm in a fight with you now, for implying that my brain is not warm...
Cookie-man - August 24, 2004 - Report this comment
Never done it. Probably never will. Excellent work Johnny!
Arwen - August 24, 2004 - Report this comment
I was kidding, by the way...5s, Johnny!

Now,I feel like doing a parody of this song! Arwen, judging by your material,I can safely say that your brain is on FIRE!

How's THIS for stupidity? Back when I was 'newbie' (trademark Oswald Inc 2004) I had only just figured out how to navigate through the whole 'successful song of the week' voting top ten or whatever it was (it was deleted just after I got the hang of it, leaving me even more confused.) Anyway, one of my starting parodies was right up there at #7 (Heapsofparodiesheremimicthisoverdoneopus) and I'd forgotten to allow comments!! So my most successful parody to date, albeit any saturated with EmiLoca/Apricot/Tibbygirl feedback, has LOST ALL THE GOOD VOTES WITH NO COMMENTS TO PROVE THAT THOSE HIGH VOTES EVER EXISTED. PS. I refer to my brain as 'lukewarm'. Ha ha. I'm so witty.
Johnny D - August 24, 2004 - Report this comment
Wow, what great comments everybody, thank you all so much! :-D

Adagio: Yup, just drink them 20 beers and everything will become as clear as Bud Light! ;-)

Arwen (1): Heh heh heh...your brain ain't just warm, gal...it's hotter than the sand on the volleyball court of the gold-medal-winning American women's beach volleyball team in Athens!

Cookie-man: Actually you should, C-man, it's a write-of-gassage --- I know, because THIS one's just a lot of stupid hot air, nyuk nyuk nyuk!

Arwen (2): I know you were....but....please...maybe you could just pretend to still be in enough of a fight with me to give me a little messageboard-spanking on The Only Thread That Matters? Please? ;-)

The Thought Police: Go for it, Thought-Copster! And you are RIGHT about The Pointy-Eared One!

Luke: "Lukewarm" ... you're definitely witty enough for this crowd, present company (my own absurdly ridiculous self, that is) included!

(~looks embarrassed~) I quite liked my version!....:-) Good job, JD 555

Johnny D - I've always taken a pass on reading parodies to this original song, pretty much for the reason stated that your title lays out (+ the original song always kind of grated on my nerves, anyway, even though, uh, yes, it is kinda cute, I suppose). When I saw that "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" as the original song title I must have just kept right on going. And THEN, much later I'm starting to read the "Latest Comments" thread...still no light going on for a while...but FINALLY some of the comments started to catch my attention and prick (can I say that?) my interest. And THEN I saw what you did. SO...excellent job of resurrecting a very dead horse for some more very lively flogging. OH...and I don't mean this to insult anybody else's work with this original (although I probably have anyway), so if you're just about to hit the "Submit" button with your very own "expialidocious" piece please don't let me stop you.

Thanks, Kristof and Paul! ;-D

Hey! I'll ignore the fact that one of my better efforts was something any half-wit could've done and give you well earned 5s/
