The Lyrics

Over in Doctor Who fandom, there's been a lot of discussion over the storylines and plots going through their original line of novels (called the EDAs, for Eighth Doctor Adventures). One big question that always comes up is "which books do I need to read to understand what's happening?". So in response, I did what every parodist should do - turn to Mary Poppins...
Super intricate story running through the EDAs
It can get oh so confusing, we all want it explained
Ongoing complicated storylines make us insane
Super intricate story running through the EDAs

Umm-diddle-diddle-diddle, umm-diddle-ay!
Umm-diddle-diddle-diddle, umm-diddle-ay!

The book you probably should start is "Alien Bodies"
"The Taint" shows Fitz, then you should read "Unnat'ral Hist'ry."
Then "Interference" writes out Sam and brings in Compassion
Then skip the rest, they're not the best, 'till "Shadows of Avalon"

Super intricate story running through the EDAs
It can get oh so confusing, we all want it explained
Ongoing complicated storylines make us insane
Super intricate story running through the EDAs

Umm-diddle-diddle-diddle, umm-diddle-ay!
Umm-diddle-diddle-diddle, umm-diddle-ay!

"The Ancestor Cell" then came along to wipe the whole slate clean
"The Burning" starts another arc to "Escape V'locity".
Then next came "The Adventuress of Henrietta Street".
"Cam'ra Obscura" moves us on, "Time Zero" hits repeat

Super intricate story running through the EDAs
It can get oh so confusing, we all want it explained
Ongoing complicated storylines make us insane
Super intricate story running through the EDAs

Umm-diddle-diddle-diddle, umm-diddle-ay!
Umm-diddle-diddle-diddle, umm-diddle-ay!

(you know, I could take it further, by detailing all the plotlines they did in the Virgin New Adventures, but that's taking it a bit too far, don't you think?)

This final arc writes out Anji and brings in new girl Trix
The multiverse does not collapse - by "Timeless" it's all fixed.
The arc gets stopped by "Sometime Never..." and it's just as well -
The EDAs finish in "The Gallifrey Chronicles"!

Super intricate story running through the EDAs
Super intricate story running through the EDAs
Super intricate story running through the EDAs
Super intricate story running through the EDAs!
