Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Clark Kent's portrayed a riddle, no diddle guy
Clark Kent's portrayed a riddle, no diddle guy

Superman is fragilistic when it comes to Lois
No excuse or alibi, for this, he doesn't owe us
When he's tough and fighting crime..his soft side he won't show us
(But) Superman is fragilistic when it comes to Lois

Su-per could get a little diddle if he'd try
Su-per could get a little diddle if he'd try

Old Superman's liked Lois Lane
Since nineteen thirty-eight
It took till nineteen ninety-six
To be her legal mate
Now there is talk of a break-up
And even a divorce..
Reversal back to olden times,
Would this be good or worse?

Not need be said..when these two wed
It satisfied the masses
Lois got wise 'bout Clark's disguise
The black rimmed pair of glasses
She has retained her maiden name,
Signs checks Lois Lane Kent, now
It seems some fans don't like this way,
Much mystery has went, now

Is Clark Kent and married life too cut and dry?
Is Clark Kent and married life too cut and dry?

September "Two-O-E-leven
DC boots their new pledge
Lois, once more, will be unwed
Have new boss, Morgan Edge
For Daily Planet, still employed
But there's a brand new bend,
Her boyfriend's now, Jon-a-than Carrol,
And Clark is just a friend,

Is this a paddle piddle like Edsel was?
Is this a paddle piddle like Edsel was?

Superman will shed homespun and, once again, be macho
Won't see the short red underwear snugged up around his crotch-o
In fresh cocoon he will be wrapped, a new blue modern Speedo

"Super" concept; wish could give a 6 on funny/clever to offset some pacing glitches.

Second set of um-diddle subs is one syl. over.
"Not need..." verse comes to 15 syls via 8/7 vs. 8/6 in TOS. Compare it to your own verse above.
I think there's a chorus missing in between those two.
The last chorus starts with a correct 14-syl line, but all the rest, including the echo line, are 15. One reason is reverting to the stanzas' scheme of starting with an unstressed syllable, whereas the correct line, and the other correct chorus at the beginning, start with a stressed (accented) syllable.

If that's too abstract, here's how the last chorus should go (one possibility)

Superman will shed homespun and, once again, be macho
No more short red underwear snugged up around his crotch-o
Wrapped in fresh cocoon, perhaps a new blue modern Speedo
Hope more movie fans attend, and comic readers read-Oh..

OK, I'll crawl back in my shell now, and don't worry, it will probably be another several months before I come out again. 4- 5+- 5

btw, for a template or pattern for your future spins on TOS, which includes the optional Dick/Julie dialog, which I believe you'e not seen (and which also happens to be about a superhero);

AFW - Wow! One of the Seven! Kentucky salutes Ohio and not with the usual upraised middle finger. I truly admire the king of gentle apolitical humor. ;D

Thanks, TT...I always enjoy your free shellful seminars...and the corrections are spot-right, as usual..but I have a weak excuse, my antique Emachine is so slow I have to fire it up a week before I can get it to log on line..Also, I was dubbing another parody of the song, that I submitted a few years back, instead of the original, and I guess I just carried over the errors I made on it. But hen too, the caped crusader is not always without blemish, himself...once, while reading a DC comic, I spotted mustard stains on his cape...(hmm, come to think of it, maybe I dropped it, I was eating a hot dog, at the time). Snapped onto the link you gave.. enjoyed your Spiderman write...
