The Lyrics

Wrote this a couple years ago. It was fun. I played it a couple times on my guitar.
W Prison Blues
I hear the train a coming, it's rolling round the bend
It's 2000 and I can't believe the country voted republican
I'm stuck in W prison, and time keeps draggin on
And I just can't help but wonder, Al Gore where have you gone?

When I was just a baby, momma said don't you know,
Anyone fool can be president, and now I do believe that it's so
Especially when, you're a former president's son
But how did we wind up with W? He's just so freaking dumb
(imitate Bush)
"you're doing a great job Brownie, heh heh"

He used fear of 9-11 to sell the war that's in Iraq
3000 soldiers died to make us safer from attack
I sure hope that it did, I hope WMD is found
I sure hope it is, because that's a lot of soldiers in the ground
(imitate Bush)
"we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud, heh heh"

At Abu Graib we strip them, then we piss on their Koran
We throw out Habeus Corpus, and the Geneva Convention
Bush says that we must do this, must win at any price
But do we really win, if our values are sacrificed?
(imitate Bush)
"it's a different kind of war, we have to take the gloves off, heh heh"

He cut taxes for the wealthy, stole money from an empty pit
He made Haliburton rich, added a trillion to the deficit
He's anti-abortion, an unborn child protector
We need all those children born, just to pay for Bush's war
(imitate Bush)
"you see when we spend more, more trickles down heh heh"

I hear the train a coming, it's rolling round the bend
It's 2004 and I can't believe they voted republican again
I'm stuck in W prison, and time keeps draggin on
And I just can't help but wonder, John Edwards where have you gone?

I'm not too sure many Bush supporters will find it funny (if he has any left, that is), but I liked it. 555

Thought it was gonna be about Bush IN prison. THAT is the new American Dream.
