| Parody Song Title: | "Ballad Of Johnny Cash" |
| Parody Written by: | Jeff Wilder |
I wrote this as a tribute to the late great Johnny Cash.
Get rhythm
When you get the blues come on get rhythm
When you get the blues
Yes a good rock and roll song makes you feel so fine
Shake all the trouble from your worried mind
Get Rhythm
When you get the blues
Johnny Cash he never got low down
But he had the toughest job in town
Liftin' the spirits of people with low feet
Destitute people from the street
But he told us that were payin' dues
How he kept from gettin' the blues
He grinned as he raised his wise head
Plucked an acoustic guitar and then he said.
Get rhythm
When you get the blues come on get rhythm
When you get the blues
When we sat down to listen to Johnny boy
His music made us stand up and sing along with joy
Pumping out that rhythm left and right
While dressed in clothing black as night
His evocative lyrics take the hurt away
That's why he stuck around til his dying day
Now he's gone to the great beyond
Jammin' in heaven with Carl and John
Get rhythm
When you get the blues
Come on get rhythm
Thank you Johnny from all of us
A lot of wounded hearts that you helped touch
Get rhythm
When you get the blues.
When you get the blues come on get rhythm
When you get the blues
Yes a good rock and roll song makes you feel so fine
Shake all the trouble from your worried mind
Get Rhythm
When you get the blues
Johnny Cash he never got low down
But he had the toughest job in town
Liftin' the spirits of people with low feet
Destitute people from the street
But he told us that were payin' dues
How he kept from gettin' the blues
He grinned as he raised his wise head
