-> "Idaho Spud"
Original Song Title:
Parody Song Title:
back about eighteen and twenty-five,
i left idaho very much alive
i would have starved on the chuck wagon’s crud
if i hadn't been eating on an idaho spud
had some trouble when my sweetheart cooked,
it was the way it tasted, not the way it looked,
i bought her a cookbook from my uncle fudd
and it taught her how to cook an idaho spud
the idaho spud was long and lean the color of the earth and its eyes were green
it survived through drought & flood, there never was a tater like the idaho spud
mashed and fried, baked and boiled,
with cheddar cheese or in tin foil,
served elegant or just served plain
they’re a favorite food for a brit or a dane!
as my sweetheart learned how to cook food,
she made it go with the beer i brewed.
an amazing plant grown in the mud,
you can’t go wrong with an idaho spud (chorus)
we’ve been married now for many years,
with our share of joys and share of tears,
we’ve got us a farm up in idaho
and you won’t guess twice about what we grow.
there’s kids around on the kitchen floor,
and fields of crops outside the door,
i plant each eye before it rots,
so each idaho spud has it’s own tater tots.
