My favorite NHL team,. the Dallas Stars, had a tough season this year. They've lost five good players, and now, I think they'll suck without them. So, I like to reminence about the season when they won the championship.
Come and listen to my story 'bout the Dallas Stars,
NHL hockey team who hadn't gotten very far.
Then one day, their owner made a smart plan.
When he signed this high-scoring man.
Hull, that is.
The Golden Brett.
Free agent from St. Louis.

After seven months of winnin', the season was finally done,
As the Stars faced Edmonton in playoff-round one,
In 4 straight games, the Stars proved who was boss,
As they advanced to the second round without a single loss.
Quarterfinals, that is.
Against St. Louis.
Hulls old team.

If you thought it was easy, then I must say you're wrong,
After two straight wins their winning streak was gone,
But Dallas stormed back and won the next two games.
All the Blues could do was hang their head in shame.
Eliminated, that is.
Done.

Soon after that, Stars faced Colorado,
It ain't easy when your underneath their shadow.
Patrick and his posse were trying to steal it all away,
But Dallas edged 'em out at the end of the day
Avs, that is.
Dallas' biggest envy

Well, the next thing you know, they're in the Cup Finals.
Buffalo was their apponent, and the pressure got higher.
Dallas lost the first game, but after that, they had better luck.
'Cause in 4 straight games, they whipped the Sabres' butt.
Hard that is,
Hasek was dethroned.

And now it's time for us to celebrate the champions.
Great job, boys, perhaps one day you'll win it again.
But until then we're gonna remember when
The Stars were the 1999 NHL Champions.
Stanley Cup, that is.
Winners.
That's what they are.
Y'all come watch 'em play. You hear?
