I feel like I'm lost in the grip of misery
out of touch with all reality
I've got the dot com blues
round and around in my mind I go
Can't stop thinking how I should have known
I got the dot com blues
I was on the fifteenth floor clinging to a ledge
had to stop myself from jumping right off of the edg
I can't face tomorrow
I've od'd on despair
I'm drowning in sorrow
Hey Nurse - ? have you got a tissue to spare?.................
repeat verse
and I've had it with the duckin and the diving
I'm tired of all the hustle and hype
for what was I endlessly strivin
always working late into the night
my mind's in a state of confusion
I must find a way to get back
the market is just an illusion
it's voodoo black magic or craps
I wish I'd known
that it would all turn to dust
the bird has flown
I've had my own boom and bust
but as I look
towards the future I must
believe in something real - something I can trust
I'm through with living life with my spirit crushed
with brief encounters fuelled by ego fear and lust
maybe love will grow
if I get it sussed
and at last I will see that I'm free
I just hope this can happen to me
