The Lyrics

U-boats during WW2 used many decoys to foil enemy sonar and periscopes and one of the most interesting was a decoy called BOLD. BOLD was a chemical cylinder 3.9" in diameter that once launched from the U-boat absorbed sea water that mixed with calcium hydride to form a screen of hydrogen bubbles. A valve opened and closed so that the cylinder stayed around 98 ft depth. This usually bought the U-boat 20-25 minutes to escape or dive. BOLD progressed in numbers 1-5, the last in 1945 allowing a depth of 695 ft. Two other decoys were often used in conjunction- Sieglinde which provided a false acoustic signature than matched a U-boat and Siegmunde that produced loud explosions to "black-out" sonar.
U-boat bubbles (U-boat bubbles)
C Hydride (C Hydride)
U-boat decoy (U-boat decoy)
Buys boat some time (Buys boat some time)

U-boat bubbles (U-boat bubbles)
From a small cylinder
Forms a screen to hide from sonar
So that the U-boat can dive

Put to use since ‘42
With U-boat Type VIIIC
25 minutes at most
For escaping

Most U-boats had gotten away
Sonar sweeps led astray
Enemy they missed
Lived to fight another day…

Not too funny, but very enlightening.

Parodies don't have to be humorous as most here are sarcastic and witty. I write dark and morbid, and tackle topics others won't go near. A lot of my parodies are info-types reflecting my knowledge. In this case I took Ho's bubbles and mated them to a U-boat!
