| Parody Song Title: | "Good Parody" |
| Parody Written by: | Ann Hammond |
I hope I didn't get a shortened lyric
Good parody
Bad parody
Not so funny
Good authors aren't lucky
It takes time you see
Pace syllably
Pace syllably
Watch for the-oo
It doesn't rhyme with when
But down 'ere with you
Watch out or you'll miss
Cause here's a rhyme too
Now on a ladder the lights
Were once strung
I made those words fit
But my rhyme is with rung
Know I takes me time
And I like what I put
In this 'ole Old World
No H's? This a joke?
Good Parody
Bad Parody
Not so funny
Do you think I used
Some kind of burlesquey?
I must go now
I got a loose screw
My eight-watt sings
Pair pale par-ee
Punk perfu?
Way past my bedy-by
Park part parsley
Past par-oo! zzzzz

God gave you the gift of poetry. You sure haven't hidden yours under the bushel. 555.
There's a link to an OS lyric that has 14 verses that is located in the intro of the other Mary Poppins parody posted today (cough)... Great idea, didn't pace quite perfectly once or twice, but "burlesquey" or "burlesquery" was a neat invention... love creative neologisms to fill a need.
Thanks Susanna I never have scored very high on IQ tests but I can draw, paint, and juggle. I use to sing and still do in my room. I have talent and I'm thankful for it. Thanks TT since I was talking about pacing and rhyming in my parody I wanted to add an art form too.
poppin' with merriness
Forgot to mention that I also love the inventing of adverbs such as "syllably" . good one :)
And a bushel of 5s shall come land on you!
Thanks alvin and yoidy
A Parody about Parodies. . .how neat. . .555 Ann, as always great job--and a tribute to what we do.
*smile* Doing your first meta-parody is IMO a sign you really do belong in the Amiright community :)
Thanks Dave
Fives. It sounds - or reads - the way Tom Lehrer would manipulate words to make them rhyme.
Thanks 2Eagle
